Ballerina Pendant Lamp or Lampshade is a visually intriguing lamp made with an advanced crochet /textile-making technique.
The lamp was designed and handmade in Northern Norway, out of locally sourced leftover mohair yarn. The material gives it soft glow and texture, beautiful colors, as well as natural fire-resistance.
This lamp showcases the complex technique of intersecting planes in crochet, similar to weaving techniques. The design is original and limited to this model.
The diameter of the lamp is ~35 cm at the widest point.
This lamp /lampshade took more than 12 hrs of labor + many more for design, selection and acquisition of materials.
The lamp is currently fit over an black textile cable E14 light source with a European plug, but it can also be shipped as a lampshade only to fit over existing generic lamps (fittings and instructions provided).
